We help people with disabilities achieve a high quality of life.

Government benefit programs like SSI and Medi-Cal are vital for many people with disabilities, but do not allow beneficiaries to have more than $2,000 in assets.  Special Needs Trusts are a legal, affordable way for people with disabilities to use, save, and invest money beyond these limits.

New Work Requirements for Medicaid! As of January 1, 2027, Many adults ages 19–64 who receive Medi-Cal through Medicaid expansion will need to complete 80 hours per month of work, school, volunteering, or other qualifying activities to maintain coverage. The new rule could cause many people with disabilities to lose Medi-Cal by making it harder to qualify for an exemption, even when health conditions or other barriers limit their ability to meet the 80-hour requirement. There is still time to influence this change. Public comments will be accepted through July 31, 2026, and a lawsuit challenging the rule seeks to protect access to Medi-Cal for people with disabilities. The Autistic Self Advocacy Network has tips for writing and submitting public comments here: autisticadvocacy.org/2026/07/medicaid-work-requirements-learn-more-and-take-action/Comments can be submitted to through the Federal Register here: www.federalregister.gov/documents/2026/06/03/2026-11094/medicaid-program-community-engagement-req... ...
